At Kathleen Halligan Consulting we are committed to creating a positive and lasting impact on the communities in which we operate. Our Social Values Policy outlines our dedication to promoting economic, social, and environmental well-being, while fostering equality, diversity, and inclusivity. By embedding social value into everything we do, we aim to contribute to a sustainable and fair future for all. 


This policy sets out our approach to delivering social value through our operations, projects, and partnerships. It applies to all employees, suppliers, contractors, and stakeholders involved with Kathleen Halligan Consulting. Our policy is guided by the principles of the Public Services (Social Value) Act 2012 and aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Economic Development

  • Supporting local businesses and suppliers.
  • Supporting training & development opportunities, especially for disadvantaged groups, through participation in supervision, mentoring and coaching programmes

  • Reducing carbon emissions.
  • Promoting recycling and sustainable practices.

Community and Social Well-being

  • Supporting charities, volunteering, and community projects e.g. member of the People Advisory Board for GOAL; Blessington Community Cardiac First Responder since 2006
  • Improving health and well-being in the communities we operate in.

Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion

  • Ensuring representation and reducing barriers for underrepresented groups.
  • Encouraging inclusive practices in hiring, promotions and development. Inclusion is fundamental value and tenet of all our practices.

Implementation and Practices

  • Procurement: We evaluate suppliers and partners on their social value contributions.
  • Employment: We participate in a range of initiatives to prompt the development of those from under-represented and disadvantaged backgrounds.
  • Community Partnerships: We support local organisations, schools, and charities in inclusive and development initiatives e.g. Social entrepreneurs; Springboard mentoring scheme etc.
  • Measurement:  We regularly engage with communities and stakeholders to ensure our initiatives remain relevant and impactful. 

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Senior Leadership: Responsible for driving the social value agenda and ensuring its alignment with strategic goals.
  • Employees and Associates: Encouraged to actively participate in initiatives that support social value objectives.
  • Suppliers and Contractors: Expected to align with our values and contribute to our social value priorities.

Communication

This policy will be shared with all employees and associates and is made publicly available on our website. It will also be included in onboarding materials and contractor agreements to ensure all parties understand our commitments. 

Review and Updates

We are committed to continuous improvement. This policy will be reviewed every two years to ensure it remains effective and reflective of evolving community and stakeholder needs.
